Psychology professor at Harvard, Daniel Gilbert says happiness is the ultimate goal of virtually all the decisions we make in life.

Most decisions in our life have consequences, good or bad may be a matter of perception but the measure of a good decision depends on whether that decision brings us pleasure, a sense of well-being, happiness or contentment. Science too has finally started to pay attention to what it means to be happy and some portion of our happiness may actually be within our power to control. There are some external interventions that can help increase human happiness and rest we can affect our own happiness, to some degree.
