70 mn farmers have digital IDs linked to land records

TO GIVE A boost to digital infrastructure, over 70 million unique farmers IDs linked to land records have been generated under the Digital Agriculture Mission, according to a senior official.

The agriculture ministry is aiming to provide nine million such IDs, referred to as Kisan Pehchaan Patra, containing the details of the farmers' land holding, crops grown in the field and other details, by the end of current fiscal.

By the end of FY27, overall 110 million farmers would have IDs across the country.

Currently 14 states including Uttar Pradesh (14 million), Maharashtra (11 million), Madhya Pradesh (8.7 million), Rajasthan (7.8 million), Gujarat (5.6 million), Andhra Pradesh (4.5 million), Tamil Nadu (3.1 million) and Telangana (3.1 million) have provided such IDs.
