Workers' union targets CCI, urges FM to intervene in HNGIL resolution process

THE WORKERS' UNION of the insolvent Hindustan National Glass & Industries (HNGIL) has written a letter to the finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman asking for her intervention pertaining to the conduct of the Competition Commission of India (CCI) in the ongoing corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP) of HNGIL.
The letter alleged that despite the landmark judgment of the Supreme Court in January 2025, which upheld the rights of the legitimate stakeholders, including the workers' union, and paved the way for earliest conclusion of CIRP, the CCI has chosen to file a review petition against the said final judgment.
