Move to support services integral to manufacturing
TO INCREASE CREDIT flow to the service sector supporting domestic manufacturing, the Central government may soon extend the credit guarantee cover for manufacturing MSMEs under the Mutual Credit Guarantee Scheme (MCGS) to select service sectors, like hospitals and hotels.
The scheme, launched in January 2025, provides a 60% guarantee coverage by National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company (NCGTC) to member lending institutions for credit facilities up to ₹100 crore to eligible manufacturing MSMEs for the purchase of equipment or machinery.
