GOVERNMENT BONDS STARTED the week on a positive note on growing expectations that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will continue buying bonds, keeping a lid on yields.
The yield on the benchmark 10-year note ended at 6.4883%, after closing at 6.5142% on Friday. The new 10-year 6.48% 2035 bond yield ended at 6.4530%.
Expectations of bond purchases by the RBI kept the market supported, said Upasna Bhardwaj, chief economist at Kotak Mahindra Bank.
