Centre Likely to Set Mudra Loans Target for FY26 at ₹5-6L cr

THE CENTRE MAY set a target between ₹5-6 lakh crore in 2025-26 for loans under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) compared with ₹5 lakh crore in 2024-25.
The PMMY was launched on April 8, 2015 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide collateral-free institutional credit of up to ₹20 lakh through member lending institutions.
Since the inception of the scheme, over 523.7 million loans amounting to ₹33.65 lakh crore have been sanctioned, with approximately 20% of the loans to new entrepreneurs or accounts, financial services secretary M Nagaraju said. The total disbursements are around ₹33 lakh crore.
