India Opposes ADB's Decision to Provide $800-mn Loan to Pak

INDIA HAS EXPRESSED deep concerns over the decision of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to extend a loan of $800 million to Pakistan in the light of the country's support to cross-border terrorism and possible diversion of funds meant for development and reforms objectives to defence spending, government sources said.
This is the second recent instance of an international financial institution (IFI) assistance to Pakistan, after the International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved a $2.4-billion assistance to it despite strong objection by India. India is also putting its objection on record with World Bank regarding its $20-billion aid package for Pakistan announced in January.
