Stricter Rules for Fraud Protection
THIRD-PARTY PRODUCTS and services should not be displayed on banks' digital banking channels, the Reserve Bank of India's draft norms issued on Monday, noted. The 'Reserve Bank of India (Digital Banking Channels Authorisation) Directions, 2025' also said banks should avoid bundling digital banking with other services like debit cards. Banks must also ensure network-independent mobile access.
The draft directions also emphasise risk management, customer conduct protocols, and technology governance. They require banks to put in place a risk-based transaction monitoring and surveillance mechanism.
