Wipro rides on large deals to beat revenue estimates

WIPRO, INDIA'S FOURTH-LARGEST IT firm, managed to post revenue slightly above estimates for the September quarter, driven by large deal wins, even as it awaits a pickup indiscretionary spending amid macroeconomic headwinds.
However, net profit came marginally below what analysts expected due to a onetime cost and continued growth-related margin pressure.
In the second quarter, net profit declined 2.5% sequentially to ₹3,246.2 crore, slightly lower than Bloomberg estimates of ~3,278 crore. Revenue from operations rose 2.5% quarter-on-quarter to ₹22,697.3 crore, just ahead of estimates of 22,688 crore.
