Dispatches post double-digit growth in February

- NITIN KUMAR

THE DOMESTIC AUTOMOBILE industry on Friday flagged the ongoing conflict in West Asia as a potential risk to supply chains and exports, even as vehicle dispatches in February recorded strong growth across segments.

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) said geopolitical developments in the region could affect the flow of key inputs and logistics routes that support manufacturing and exports.

“While the month of March has festive drivers in several parts of the country, the recent conflict in West Asia remains a concern, both from the perspective of supply chain, which could impact the manufacturing processes and exports,” Rajesh Menon, director general, Siam, said.
