Work to begin soon on demolishing former city centre swimming pool

DEMOLITION day has arrived for a landmark former leisure centre in Exeter.
The Pyramids Swimming and Leisure Centre in Heavitree Road closed in 2022.
The building gave 80 years of service to the city but was mothballed when the new St Sidwell’s Point pool was built. More than three years have since elapsed with no sign of activity at the site.
Now fences have been erected around the building and the owners say work has begun. A spokesperson for the Guinness Partnership confirmed: "Demolition has started on the former Pyramids site."
