Formula One success sends Aston Martin shares racing in rally

ASTON MARTIN’S flying start to the Formula One season today added to the feelgood factor for shares as the car maker’s recovery accelerated in the FTSE 250 index.
Fernando Alonso’s podium finish and sixth place for Lance Stroll at Sunday’s Bahrain grand prix ensured the team backed by Aston Martin delivered a performance in keeping with this year’s turnaround in stock market fortunes.
The shares jumped as much as 20% today and now stand at their highest level since May after annual results last week provided a major boost to City confidence, including the promise of significant growth in profitability this year.
