Flo: We're not just pretty girls who stand there and sing

THEY'RE one of the hottest talents in UK music with a Brit award to their name - but Flo say outdated perceptions of girl bands mean some will still see them as "three pretty girls" who "just stand there and sing".
The London group-Jorja Douglas, 21, Stella Quaresma, 21, and Renée Downer, 20-hit out at "deep-rooted misogyny" that means people perceive girl bands as not having control of their music and careers. Flo's 2022 breakout song Cardboard Box, produced by Little Mix and Dua Lipa-collaborator MNEK, was met with acclaim, as was their debut EP The Lead, which has amassed more than 70 million global streams.
The trio were put together by their management company in 2019 and worked together for two years before their breakthrough.
