DALEY BACK IN MEDALS WITH SUPER SILVER

LITTLE did Tom Daley know that taking his family on a trip to the Olympic Museum in Colorado Springs would spark his Olympic U-turn.

Daley was greeted by a round of applause by staff there and, when a video played of what it meant to be an Olympian, he burst into tears. It was then his son Robbie said he wanted to watch him dive at the Olympics.

It was fitting that the six-year-old was in the stands at the Aquatics Centre in Paris today with younger brother Phoenix and Daley’s husband Dustin Lance Black to watch Daley complete his retirement U-turn and dive to silver with partner Noah Williams.

imageSuch is the 30-year-old’s longevity in the sport, this was his fifth 10m synchro platform partner at his fifth Olympic Games, this medal adding to a gold from Tokyo in 2021 and three career bronze.
