Lack of multi-year funding makes festival more fragile

Unique Assembly director Al Thompson said that Edinburgh's Hogmanay is one of the few festivals in Scotland that has not received multiyear funding support from the Scottish Government.

He said: "We are still in a situation where we have to put in applications every year for what is potentially available. We only found out about our funding application for the torchlight procession last month.
