HONEYMOON IN TATTERS AS PAIR TOLD THEY COULD NOT FLY BECAUSE OF TORN PASSPORT
A NEWLYWED couple say they are “heartbroken” after they were blocked from boarding their honeymoon flight at East Midlands Airport, due to a tear on one of their passports.
Joe Barnes and Beccy Bestwick-Barnes were due to fly to Cyprus for a four-day holiday last Wednesday, four days after their wedding.
However, the couple’s £1,200 trip with TUI was left in tatters before they could scale the steps to the plane at East Midlands.
Airline workers had noticed a small rip at the top of the main page of Mr Barnes's passport and judged it too damaged to fly with.
“We were all excited and happy but they wouldn't allow us to use the passport,” said Beccy. “We were absolutely heartbroken at the airport
