Veteran guard Washington joins Blazers

FOR the second year running, Derby Trailblazers have lured an established BBL/SLB player to make the short trip from Leicester Riders to join the club.

Long-serving Leicester Riders guard Connor Washington follows in the footsteps of Mo Walker, after helping the Riders to win 15 pieces of silverware over an illustrious 12-year career.

An intelligent veteran, Washington has earned respected throughout the BBL and SLB for being a solid playmaker, who can shoot the ball well from beyond the three-point range (35.7% last season) and cause problems with his tenacious defence.

Hailing from Bedford, the 6'0" guard started his career with Milton Keynes Lions but also has European experience to add to his stellar career in Leicester, where Walker was one of his teammates when the Riders won the treble in 2022.
