Significant rise in pupils leads to expansion plan

AN academy for pupils with special needs is set to expand following a “significant” rise in pupil numbers.
St Clare’s School in Mickleover is an 11-16 special academy which currently has 159 pupils with learning difficulties and associated complex needs enrolled.
Planning applications submitted to and approved by Derby City Council have revealed plans to build a new two-storey teaching building, enlarge the existing multi-use games area (MUGA) and improve accessibility throughout the building.
