Rail boost for city as it is the 'natural and right' home for new authority

DERBY has been praised for being the “natural” home of Great British Railways (GBR) during a visit by its shadow chair on a visit to the city.
Laura Shoaf was invited to a meeting to discuss plans for the future headquarters of the new national rail body by the city’s two MPs - Baggy Shanker (Derby North) and Catherine Atkinson (Derby South).
The visit included a tour of key sites in the city centre and discussions about how Derby - confirmed as the future HQ of GBR - can maximise the social, economic and transport benefits of being in the control room of the country’s new publicly owned rail authority.
