A DERBY public garden may have to move if it does not meet new planning conditions following a series of noise complaints from businesses and residents.

- By NIGEL SLATER

Derby City Council imposed the rules on Electric Daisy in Bold Lane following a planning meeting last week after it was heard the public garden's owners were issued with an official noise warning.

The meeting was told Electric Daisy may have to relocate if the conditions are not met. Derby City Council's planning chief Paul Clark said Electric Daisy was in the "wrong location" and the council needed "to take a stand" on the situation.

But despite the noise problems. councillors expressed support saying it was an "excellent place" for Derby.

Down To Earth Derby founder Jamie Quince-Starkey, who runs Electric Daisy, apologised to those impacted by noise.

The planning meeting saw councillors consider an application for Electric Daisy's site to be retained permanently after temporary permission lapsed.
