A DERBYSHIRE criminal threatened to kill his ex-partner during a bombardment of abusive messages and texts.
Nottingham Crown Court heard how dad-of-three John Foster also told the terrified woman "I am going to smash your face in".
The 38-year-old was also part of a gang which carried out a burglary in Eastwood which saw him chased onto the roof of a car by a police dog.
Now the heavily convicted defendant has been jailed for 11 months for his string of latest offences.
Judge Nirmal Shant KC said: "It was persistent and the threats were such that she feared for her safety.
"She believed she was under peril and what you did was deeply unpleasant.
