ALFRETON consolidated their position at the top of Millers Partnership Division One with a comfortable 88-run home win over Clifton.

After choosing to bat, they were in trouble at first at 46-4 but a partnership of 74 between Muhammad Asim and Jake Simpson (26) turned the innings around and Asim marshalled the lower order before falling for 116 from 98 balls with 14 fours and three sixes as they reached 238 all out.
Despite opener Danial Zaheer making a solid 60 and putting on 50 for the third wicket with Abid Zadran (34), Clifton were not in the hunt once they lost captain Daryn Smit for 18 and succumbed for 150, Zabiullah Ahmadzai taking 3-22.
