Cata-affiliated owner and driver shot and killed as violence continues to plague Cape
TWO members of the Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association (Cata) were shot dead in separate incidents in Cape Town, within hours of each other this week.
In the latest incident, a taxi driver was ambushed while transporting three passengers in his Toyota Quantum on Robert Sobukwe Drive near Valhalla Park around 5am yesterday.
Police said the driver sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head and died at the scene.
His body lay a few metres from the vehicle, while his three female passengers, aged 31, 38, and 45, were injured and rushed to hospital.
