Cata taxi driver killed in Nyanga

ANOTHER taxi driver was gunned down on Sunday night after an alleged argument with the suspect.
The 41-year-old taxi driver is a member of the Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association (Cata) and was shot and killed inside his taxi in Ntlangano Street, Nyanga, before 8pm.
The recent bloody conflict between Cata and rival association Codeta has led to the provincial government shutting down disputed routes between Somerset West and Khayelitsha.
The Department of Mobility at the weekend stated that the corridor would be closed for 30 days from Wednesday, 17 September 2025.
