MILITARY heroes young and old - and even the four-legged variety - have been honoured for their sacrifice.

Army, Royal Navy and RAF personnel from across the UK were celebrated at the Soldiering On Awards in London, hosted by Jeremy Vine.

Winners included Afghanistan veteran Mark Ormrod MBE, with the triple amputee taking home the Inspiration Award.

The ex-Marine and Invictus Games gold medal winner was recognised for raising more than £1million for veterans and inspiring others to overcome adversity through his speaking and mentoring.
