BRENTFORD broke their transfer record and the habit of a lifetime to sign Nathan Collins.

But all the Republic of Ireland ace wants is somewhere to call a long-term home having joined a fourth club in as many seasons.

Centre-back Collins, a £23m purchase from Wolves, is the first player to sign for Thomas Frank's team permanently from a Premier League rival.

He was surprisingly sold by Wolves just a year after they paid £20m for him from Burnley, where he had also spent a single campaig having arrived from Stoke.

Easing Financial Fair Play concerns at Molineux was a significant reason behind a decision Collins said was a surprise.

But when Brentford showed strong interest and he learned Wolves were not hugely determined to keep him, another change of scenery became a simple choice.

"I wanted to stay," he said. "I don't want to keep moving as much as I have.
