Toto wants to team George up with bitter enemy Max

GEORGE RUSSELL could be partnered with Formula One enemy Max Verstappen, after Mercedes boss Toto Wolff confirmed he is still in talks with the Dutchman.

Verstappen is contracted to Red Bull until 2028 but has exit clauses and Wolff (inset) confirmed yesterday he'd still like to sign the four-time world champion.

That is despite Verstappen and Russell having had several furious clashes on track, with the Brit labelling his rival a "bully" and the Dutchman calling his rival a "d***head".

But Wolff is no stranger to dealing with feuding team-mates after years of mediating between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.

And he referred to that fiery partnership as he admitted he'd be happy to pair Verstappen with Russell.
