Slot comes agonisingly close again

ARNE SLOT admitted Liverpool only had themselves to blame after Harrison Reed's last-gasp wonder strike denied them victory.

Fulham supersub Reed scored his first goal since April 2023 and his stunning 25-yard blast came in the 97th minute, just after Cody Gakpo had put the visitors (looking dejected above and below) ahead.

Liverpool boss Slot said: "I've experienced this for months now. They score with their first chance and it is not for the first time this season that we have conceded in the final seconds of the game.

"I liked our second half more than our first half. We controlled the game and a few times were close - two disallowed goals, hitting the bar, a goal. That is ideally what you want to see when you have so many attacking players out.

"Once in a while the boys should get a reward, but we do not get it and once again the only one to blame is ourselves.

"It's not for the first time this season that we fight so hard and think we have a win but concede an incredible strike.”

Reed said: "I came on and then two minutes later they scored so I did my best to keep the boys going.
