JANNIK SINNER produced the ultimate act of revenge to end Carlos Alcaraz's reign as king of Wimbledon.

In a sensational showdown on Centre Court, Sinner defeated the two-time champion to claim his first title at SW19.

And in the process secure the sweetest sense of redemption courtesy of the greatest win of his career.

Just five weeks ago Sinner had been left devastated after allowing Alcaraz to come from two sets down, and save three match points, in pipping him to the French Open title.

But this time the heartbreak belonged to the Spaniard.

This time it was a comeback of his own from world No.1 Sinner, who ignored losing the opening set to triumph 4-6 6-4 6-4 6-4 and take his first Wimbledon title and fourth Grand Slam.
