Seeing red

Man gone: It was dubbed the Battle of Bramall Lane, after Sheffield United's ground where the Blades took on West Brom in a Division One clash on March 16, 2002. It saw Neil Warnock's home side reduced to just six men, having made all their substitutions. The rules meant the referee was forced to abandon the game in the 82nd minute. It’s still the only pro match in English football called off because there weren't enough players.
