ENGLAND boss Sarina Wiegman (right) joked the Lionesses have been practising penalties "for hours" ahead of their semifinal showdown against Italy tonight.

The nation was put through the wringer in the previous round when England came from 2-0 down to force extra time against Sweden, before scraping through 3-2 on penalties despite missing four spot-kicks.

And with the prize for victory tonight a place in the Euros final for the defending champions, Wiegman insisted nothing has been left to chance - even though she is praying her players get the job done in 90 minutes this time.

"We practise for hours and hours!" Wiegman joked.
