RYAN YATES reckons Nottingham Forest are marching to safety regardless of whether they claw any points back.
And his maiden Premier League goal could now see him dive in the River Trent when survival is secured.
The home - grown midfielder fired Forest ahead in the second half – his first strike in 59 top-flight appearances – and celebrated by pretending to swim in front of the travelling supporters.
After his goal was given following a VAR check, Yates said: “The fans have been singing ‘If Yatesy scores, we’re in the Trent’ for about 18 months. It was starting to die off because I hadn’t scored and had a couple ruled out by VAR last season, so I had to do that swimming celebration just to give something back.
“I just remember the ball dropping and the net rippling
“Then I thought ‘Oh no they’re checking it’ but I’m just buzzing about the win.”
