IS THERE anything more boring than debates about guards of honour? Should a club do it or should they not? Who cares? Really? Is it going to take anything away from Liverpool’s outstanding success if 11 men don’t stand on the pitch and clap them on to it? Is it going to make the slightest bit of difference to their supporters’ pure enjoyment of what manager Arnie Slot (right) and his team achieved at Anfield last Sunday?

Of course not. Teams should do it if they want but the endless days of talk and goading about it is tiresome.
