MATTY ASHTON’S hat-trick saw Warrington defy more injury woe and deliver a superb trilogy of their own.

The England winger completed his treble in the 45th minute to nudge his side 20-14 ahead against fierce rivals St Helens.

But after Rodrick Tai’s stunning effort completed the job, Ashton had to depart with a head knock.

He failed his HIA as did scrum-half Marc Sneyd who went off with a first-half head injury.

Both automatically miss the Magic Weekend clash with champions Wigan - and Wolves are already without England stand-off and captain George Williams for 10 weeks.
