THE BBC could be funded by a tax on all homes or a surcharge on council tax if the licence fee is abolished, says its chairman.
Its charter expires in 2027 and the Government is working on how the corporation is financed after that.
The licence fee brings in £3.7billion annually – 74% of income. The rest comes from selling shows abroad.
