'Killer' shot dead by cops

TWO men were killed yesterday in a terror attack at a synagogue on the holiest day of the Jewish calendar.

Police named the attacker as 35-year-old Jihad Al-Shamie, a British citizen of Syrian descent.

Three others were in hospital last night with serious injuries after the horrific incident outside Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall, Manchester.

The attacker, who drove a car at people then got out and stabbed others, was shot dead by cops.

Gtr Manchester Police said two men aged in their 30s and a woman in her 60s have been arrested on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism connected to the attack.
