Rubens reflects on when Ferrari ruled world

While seven-time world champion Hamilton questions whether he made the right call in joining the Prancing Horse team, Barrichello recalls the “magic” time they ruled Formula One.

RUBENS BARRICHELLO can tell Lewis Hamilton a few things about achieving success with Ferrari.

The Brazilian, as teammate to seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, was a vital cog in the machine which saw the Scuderia steamroll the opposition.

He joined in 2000 when Ferrari were already constructors’ champions and became a dependable ally to Schumacher as he won five drivers’ titles in a row.

“It was magic,” he told Pit Lane Chronicle.

“Ferrari went 19 years without a win and, all of a sudden, I was part of something magic.”
