Kane: Wembley wake-up call just what we needed

HARRY KANE insists England's Iceland shocker was a much-needed kick up the backside.

Gareth Southgate's men have been left licking their wounds after Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson scored the only goal (inset) at Wembley in England's final warm-up game ahead of the Euros in Germany.

The setback was one of Southgate's worst results since taking charge in 2016.

But Kane hopes the defeat will serve as a timely reminder as to how much work there is to do if the Three Lions are to stand a chance of conquering Europe.
