Borthwick says smart money's on wise guy Elliot for World Cup call

ELLIOT DALY was recalled to the England team after nearly five months out, then backed by boss Steve Borthwick to get to the next World Cup - aged 35.

Daly suffered a gruesome broken left arm when the Lions played the Reds on July 2 in Brisbane and was flown home to have 16 screws and a plate put in.

Tom Roebuck is sidelined with a foot injury after England's 33-19 win over New Zealand and so Daly is back on the wing against Argentina on Sunday without a game under his belt.
