Amber alert for rain and floods

MULTIPLE warnings including an amber “danger to life” have been put in place across the UK as the country braces for torrential rain.

Yellow warnings are in place for parts of northeast, northwest and southwest England, the East Midlands, the West Midlands and Wales. Potentially deadly fast-flowing or deep floods are possible, the Met Office said.
