THIS time of year means different things to different people, but over the last few years for me the Paddy Power PDC World Darts at London's Alexandra Palace have helped chase away the dark nights.

My involvement with Prostate Cancer UK was the catalyst for getting involved with darts as the PDC is helping to raise awareness as there is currently no screening programme.

High-profile figures like David Cameron and Sir Cliff Richard, who recently revealed he has been treated for prostate cancer, have joined the call for something to be done, but for now it's down to men to be proactive and seek the simple test available from GPs.
