Huge toll on British boozers

AROUND 15,800 pubs have disappeared since Brits rang in the Millennium.

Revellers toasted the year 2000 in 60,800 watering holes, but today only around 45,000 are left.

The sector took the biggest hit in 2017, losing 1,950 boozers more than were wiped out in the Covid years from 2020 to 2022 when 1,350 shut down.
