RUN BOY RUN lived up to his name in the Ladbrokes Ayr Gold Cup to seal a unique double for his trainer Richard Spencer, jockey George Wood and owner Phil Cunningham.

The 12-1 chance made all the running and stuck determinedly to his task to hold Desert Falcon by a neck in the feature race of Ayr's Western meeting - 70 minutes after Candy had triumphed for the same trio in the big one's consolation, the Silver Cup.
