Holders go Ful pelt as last-gasp Lewis goal lifts the Toon Army

LEWIS MILEY was Newcastle's hero as his 92nd-minute winner sent the defending champions into the semifinals.

The game was heading towards penalties after Sasa Lukic had cancelled out Yoane Wissa’s opener in the space of six frantic first-half minutes.

Miley then looked to have spurned Newcastle's best chance to seal a late victory when his placed effort was kept out by Fulham goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte.

But the Frenchman could do nothing about the subsequent corner as Miley headed on Sandro Tonali’s cross to send St James’ Park into raptures.

Miley said: "It's a great feeling to win. I thought I'd try to flick it on and it luckily hit the back of the net. I'm buzzing.

"It's an unreal feeling. I grew up here. It couldn't be a better feeling and hopefully we progress to the final.

"We won it last season and hopefully we can do that again this year.
