WILFRIED NANCY has urged the disgruntled Celtic support to trust him.

- SCOTT BURNS

But the Frenchman admitted his team must start delivering after they were crushed in the Premier Sports Cup Final.

Nancy watched St Mirren sink his side 3-1 at Hampden and admitted it had been painful. It is now three straight defeats for the Hoops boss but Nancy has asked the fans to listen to him because he will get things right.

He said: "It's obviously painful, the result.

Especially for the players, for the fans and for the club.

"I can understand. I tell them that I want to do better, for sure.

"But I am asking them, not to be patient but to trust what I am going to say regarding I can see what we are trying to do.

"My point is I can see something good but this is not enough, we are not able to be consistent.

"I can understand the fans. It is totally normal.

"I can ask the fans to believe in me and to trust I can do things but that is not my job. I have to act instead of talking" The 48-year-old is adamant he is still the man for the Celtic job.
