STEPHEN ROBINSON has reminded his Buddies what they're capable of amid a confidence crisis.

Now he hopes reaching Hampden again can further jog those memories to lift St Mirren's ailing season.

The Paisley men peaked with a 3-1 Premier Sports Cup Final win over Celtic in Mount Florida in December.

They've progressed past Livingston on penalties and Airdrie after extra-time in the Scottish Cup.

But poor league results have left them in peril, only three points above the relegation playoff spot.

Saints host Partick Thistle tomorrow night and the boss reckons making a semifinal could be what's needed to feel good about themselves again.

The 51-year-old said: “Confidence is everything in football, it's massive.

“You don't become a bad player, a bad manager or bad staff over eight, nine weeks.

“What sometimes happens to players is the confidence drains. I try to be realistic. There are lots of things we can be better at, we know that.
