Teary Tess gets memo just in time

TESS Daly burst into tears when she opened the letter telling her she was to be made an MBE - but it almost did not make it to her on time.

The Strictly Come Dancing host revealed the letter from Buckingham Palace was delivered to the wrong address.

She said: "By the time I got it, I only had two or three days left to accept it. I was cutting it fine, but it ended well."

The 56-year-old added: "I cried when I opened the letter, because I couldn't believe it.

"The first thing I wanted to do was tell my dad, because I lost my dad many years ago, and I know how proud my dad would have been.

"He would been incredibly proud in a very northern, humble fashion."
