SHAMAL GEORGE can't stand spending Saturday nights trying to get his head around St Mirren's luckless season.

The keeper admits he’s been exhausted by the cruel blows to beset Saints.

But he’s sure the Buddies can lift themselves off the canvas again ahead of a vital three-game week.

Performances have been up to par in the league, including last week against Celtic.

But poor results have seen them sink to ninth, two points off the Premiership basement.

Callum McGregor's stoppage-time stunner for the champs was the latest setback.

That came after Saints had their fifth goal disallowed in four home games.

George, 27, admitted: “It's more mentally draining. We don't really celebrate goals now until we know they've been given.

“It's been hard and it's frustrating. A few things have gone against us that have stopped us having more goals.
