SCOTT McTOMINAY could follow in the footsteps of Denis Law by becoming only the second Scot to win the Ballon d'Or.
The Napoli and Scotland star has been nominated for the prestigious award after helping his club lift the Serie A title for a fourth time in their history.
That has seen the former Manchester United midfielder join superstars such as Real Madrid trio Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jnr and Jude Bellingham in the running for the top award, with 30 up for it. McTominay is the first Scottish man to be shortlisted for the honour since Ally McCoist in 1987.
