Scotland's sex violence shame

NEW figures paint a deeply worrying picture of growing sexual violence being experienced every day by women and girls across the country.

Rape, attempted rape and other sexual assaults are at their highest levels in four years, says the Scottish Government.

Overall, the number of sex crimes across Scotland was up five per cent to 15,129 — an average of more than 40 attacks a day with the vast majority of victims female.
